My roommate Casey.

This is my roommate Casey (on the right side). She is wonderful. When our previous roommates moved out I was sad and hesitant to living with anyone else. But God has truly blessed this house with this new addition. Casey is genuinely considerate, helpful, uplifting, and above all funny and easy to make laugh. (The latter helps my self-esteem tremendously.) I can only assume that her presence in my future is influential and prominent.

I first met Casey while working at KAMU on campus at Texas A&M (the old alum). We both worked as receptionists with our mutual and dear friend Shallan. I knew the first time I saw her and she had a large McDonald's drink in her hand that we were headed for greatness. It was some time after that when the possibility of her moving in was approached. I couldn't be happier for the coincidence.

We really could not have asked for a greater addition to the house. She just had her birthday with us (21!! yyeaahh!) and showed us time and time again what a real treat she is to have around. I feel like I tell my fellow roommates all the time how much I like this girl but I thought I'd share it with the rest of you.

Couldn't have asked for anything better..

What a week, what a week. Just as I had predicted, we got sunburned, ate too much, and had cold drinks on the deck. We were on a strict schedule to wake up late, sunbathe, flip over, eat, sunbathe, and watch movies when the sun went down. I finished the Harry Potter series and fell more in love with Ronald Weasley. We ventured into town one night and only stayed at Matagordaville (the local "bar"/creepster joint) for approximately 35 minutes. After one night of feeling adventuresome I figured meeting a few locals was not going to enhance our trip.

This is a picture of the girls. My roommates and fellow spring breakers, from the left: Casey, myself, Cate, and Kate. Taylor Swift at the Houston Rodeo was the perfect end to a wonderful week. My only other wish would have included the rest of our crew. We missed our Dallas friends. The latest Taylor Swift album Fearless is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love it!!

The beach was shockingly beautiful this year. The water was great. Well at least it looked great. I didn't get in because for whatever reason I don't do beach water. Perhaps that will change one of these days. I'm so thankful for our trip. I can tell you that waking up to substitute at a middle school tomorrow is not looking ideal right now. Hopefully Kate and I will make it.

We're Headed Out..

Matagorda Bay here we come!! I haven't been out of College Station/Bryan to do anything fun and relaxing since Christmas. I realize that as a new graduate that should be a given because I should have a job that's keeping me in the office but after a while of unemployment and the desperate need to get out of the house, Kate and I landed substitute teaching gigs. Blessed with Spring Break YET AGAIN, we're headed out in about 30 min. We're taking a good group of individuals so I predict a week of sunburns, too much food, and cold drinks on the deck. Meet me down there when you can..

My closet..

..is bursting with stuff and happens to be a tiny hall closet. My room is not technically a bedroom and therefore lacks a true closet. I wouldn't classify this as a problem per say, and certainly would not call it a burden. I'm not mad or even annoyed, I'm just recognizing this as a constant issue I'm faced with daily. No one ever believes me, but I give clothes away every few months. I'm also constantly reorganizing my shoes into their bins on the floor in my closet and it seems hours later we're back to square one. I just happen to have sooo much of my life stuffed into this confined space and have very little room to work with. I haven't even been shopping in months. Literally since before Christmas!! I guess I can't ignore what Marty and Cliff buy me out of the kindness of their hearts every now and then, but I really haven't been buying clothes. This week, in between substitute teaching and watching movies from Blockbuster with my roommates, I'm going to prioritize the material things in my life. Other people need these things more than I do. Welcome to my new blog. I'm excited!
